My second favorite Sesame Street muppet when I was a kid. First was, of course, The Count. He made me happy and scared at the same time. I still love the combination of those two emotions.

I love Cookie Monster. And the Count too. And Grover. And Ernie-- I used to have a sweater just like his. As an adult, the characters that still consistently crack me up are The Doodlebugs... the bickering family of insects that live in Ernie's flowerbox. Hysterical.

Really? The doodlebugs always freaked me out (not in a good way.) I still don't know why. I used to imitate(usually when a phone rings in the office)the curious aliens with the weird mouths that could overlap their faces. I don't remember their names, or if they even had names... "Bbbbbrrrriiing. Telephooowwn...bbbrrrriiing." Annoying, I know.
